THE COLUMBINE BED & BREAKFAST POLICIES

IMPORTANT: THE ARRIVAL TIME YOU PROVIDE US ON THE NEXT PAGE IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US AND WE CONSIDER IT AN APPOINTMENT. Once you have provided us your arrival time, please try to keep it (Louisville is on Eastern Standard Time). If you need to change your arrival time, please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled check-in. If you get delayed on the road, please notify us as soon as you are able to. Please give us as much notice as possible as it is quite likely that we may have made other commitments that would prevent us from being available to check you in. Because we are a small business run by the owners, we do not have staff available to assist you with check-ins during our absence. We want to make sure we are here to welcome you to our home when you ring the doorbell.

PARKING: Parking in front of the house on Third Street is by residential permit only Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. We have guest permits available for folks that prefer to park on the street for convenience. We also have private, off-street parking behind the house which is accessible via the alley from either Lee Street (intersection before our house) or Bloom Street (first intersection after you pass the house). You would take a left onto either and enter the alley that runs between Third and Second streets. Of course, no permit is required for our private spaces. While visiting Louisville, we strongly recommend you do not leave any valuables in your car whether you choose to park in our lot or on the street. We will not be held responsible for any items left in vehicles. If you are traveling with bicycles, we have storaghttps://convoyant.com/resnexus/manage/settings/all.aspxe space in the inn that you are welcome to use.

Our property is privately owned and as the innkeepers, we must reserve the right to refuse service to anyone and will not be responsible for accidents or injury to guests or for the loss or theft of money, jewelry or valuables of any kind. We have a safe in which we can store any valuables for you. Please feel free to ask.

Our entire home is smoke-free. Smoking is allowed on two patios. Guestrooms are non-smoking and inventoried daily and the most recent registered guest will be charged for missing and/or damaged items and agrees to a $250 fee if anyone has smoked in the room.

Candles, incense or anything else that could cause a fire is strictly prohibited.

Children over the age of 12 are welcome.

No pets of any kind are permitted in the house and a $200 fee will be added to the registered guest's room total if a pet is found within the room or house. Service animals are excluded, however, we do charge a $75 fee for the additional cleaning that will be required after check-out. The animal must be crated and may not be left in the room unattended. As owners, we have two miniature Schnauzers that live with us in our private owners' quarters. We do not allow them in the bnb part of the house.

For the safety of our guests, all outside visitors must be announced to the innkeepers prior to their arrival. For insurance purposes, no unregistered guests are permitted in the house after 9pm (guest drop-offs excluded).

Our check in is after 3 pm (by appointment only) and check out is at 11:00 am.

For payment, we accept Visa, MC, AMEX, Discover, debit cards and cash but we do not accept personal checks.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Our cancellation policy states that the cancellation or changing of one room for one night must be made up to 72 hours prior to arrival otherwise the person that has reserved the room with his/her credit card will be held responsible for the accommodations.

PLEASE NOTE: For reservations for 2 rooms and/or 1 room for 3 or more days the cancellation policy states that cancelling or changing rooms must be made at least ONE WEEK (7 days) prior to arrival otherwise the person that has reserved the room with his/her credit card will be held responsible for one night's accommodation per room.

For reservations for 3 rooms or more (or 1 room for 5 nights or more), the person that has reserved the room will be responsible for one night's accommodations for each room reserved plus $100 re-booking fee regardless of when the cancellation is made.

FOR KENTUCKY DERBY RESERVATIONS: $1,000 deposit is taken at the time of the reservation. This is 100% non-refundable in the event of cancellation. The balance of your stay will be due upon check-in. If booked last minute, the entire amount will be charged at the time the reservation is made. In the event you should have to cancel your reservation, we will release your room and try, in earnest, to rebook it. If we are able to, we will return all monies paid by you minus a $250 rebooking fee. If we are unable to rebook the room, no refund will be given.


We will give a 10% commission for reservations booked by travel agents for stays of 2 (two) days or more.

Guest rates: $129-$189 plus taxes. Excludes Kentucky Derby, some holidays and special events.

Weekly and corporate rates available.
Gift certificates available.
Business meetings, breakfast, and lunch meetings can be arranged. You must arrange your own caterer if serving food at a meeting as we are only licensed to provide breakfast to overnight guests.
